Serra Claret is a family business within the textile sector founded in Manresa in 1933 by Josep Serra Claret, tailor and part time musician. Josep Serra Claret could be found regularly in the tailoring located in 11 Born Street in Manresa and also in the cinema where he used to play the piano to accompany the silent and black and white movies of the time.
Towards the end of 1960’s, his son Josep M. Serra Boada, decides to continue with the tailoring and at the same time introduces new emerging men’s fashion brands. When he marries his wife, Montserrat Selvas Tarrés, the two decide to go a step forward and introduce national and international women’s clothing brands to the mentioned tailoring.
Today, the daughters of the couple, Judith and Cristina Serra, are at the forefront of the family business that not only continue to mantain in Manresa but have also expanded in Barcelona. First with the opening of the women’s store and since 2015, with the opening of the men’s store, both located in Provenza Street, a few meters from the iconic Pedrera.
